South River Knitting Guild

WE LOVE TO KNIT!

We are a group of knitters of all skill levels from all around the Annapolis area.

We have a Raverly group ... SOUTH RIVER KNITTING GUILD! (Thanks Dina!!)

and ... We've started a couple of new group projects.

The newest group project is the February Lady Jacket! Thanks to Sarah & Kathy for guiding us through this one. Stay tuned for pics!

We are all knitting squares in many different patterns, techniques and colors for patchwork-type sampler afghans as a fund-raiser & for charity ... we don't know how they will turn out or how many we will end up with, but stay tuned for updates & pictures!

The E. Zimmermann's Baby Surprise Jacket project was a big success! They all turned out great and each very different! A BIG Thanks to
Kellie Nuss !

These are the results from one of our group projects ... "FROM THE TOP"; Nature Speak Knit's top-down, set-in sleeve crew neck pullover. They are "looking marvelous!!!".(... Thanks Jeanne!)

Lots of Noro (Silk Garden, Kureyon, Sakura), Ellen's Half Pint Silk/Mohair, Manos Del Uruguay, Debbie Bliss Silk Road Aran, Malibrigo, Stonehedge .... the results are stunning!

Another of our recent group project is Nature Speak Knits' "RAVENELI"; a fun jacket or vest knit in the round with a circular, big shawl-type collar. Again, lots of Noro, this time run with dk and worsted solid colors, Malabrigo, tripled dks in lots of combos! (Again ... Thanks Jeanne!)

Our on-going charity project is creating scarves (with pink in them) for The AAMC Breast Center in the Sajak Pavillion at Anne Arundel Medical Center. We've all been touched ... we want to reach out & touch.

Please feel free to join us. We meet on the FIRST TUESDAY of each month from 7pm to 9pm on the 7th floor in classroom #3 of the new Health Scienes building on the AAMC Medical compus, Medical Parkway, Annapolis, MD. We have a blast!

Our group knit-along of Jeanne's Top-Down Set-in Sleeve sweater was a blast! And by the way, this sweater is the best-fitting, easiest to knit sweater I've ever done. Plus, it took fewer skeins of yarn than I normally use (it is cropped) – just under 10 skeins of Noro Kuryeon - and I think I finished it in around 2 weeks of evening knitting. Easy and fun - and with the random self-striping in the Kuryeon it looks as if I’ve knit a sunset. OK, Jeanne, what will you design for us to knit-along on next!
