WE LOVE TO KNIT !

We are a group of knitters of all skill levels from around the Annapolis, MD area. Our meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month from 7-9 PM at the Annapolis Elks Club, 2 Pythian Drive, Edgewater, MD. New members and visitors are welcome to attend a meeting and hopefully join us. Dues are $25 annually and support speakers and activities throughout the year. At every meeting we share our current projects and knitting needles and yarn are usually in our hands.

Check our our Ravelry group ...SOUTH RIVER KNITTING GUILD to see what members have been knitting. More information about us in the posts below.

NEXT MEETING TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 1
The Silver Siren, Brenda, is coming with a trunk show of her knitting notions and jewelry.  Great holiday gifts.

October was December holiday themed.  We practiced 2-color knitting making an ornament and shared free patterns for quick, last-minute gifts.  Karen taught and Suzy helped her demonstrate how to make a stitch below the one on the needle.....

Since so many scarves were made with Nora's yarn we modeled them for a picture to share with her.

Some members made a field trip to the Shenandoah Valley Fibre Fest in Berryville and found it very interesting and worth the 2 hour drive.  Definitely several will be going next September 23 or 24.  A fascinating goat discovered there is the pygora goat, a cross between a pygmy and  a white angora goat.....luscious fiber.

The October 4 meeting will have a December Holiday theme.  Details to come shortly.  Members are asked to bring their favorite last minute gift idea to be included in a booklet we will all get.  More on this later too.

At the February meeting we continued with our Knit-A-Long, the beaded bag.  A few members showed off their finished masterpieces.  Since we could use any yarn and put beads anywhere, these illustrate the creativity of their designers.

Join us for our March 1 meeting  to hear from Joelle Burbank of Wandering Wool.

The Knit-a-long has started and many of us are enjoying the fun of knitting this cute, little bag and and maybe adding some beads.  Virginia got us off to a good start.  February we will finish.

Sherry finished her Ann Weaver Dot and Dashes shawl and showed it off.
Marcia collected more scarves for the Breast Center and hats for the NicU.
